Conquering Obesity in Children

I started this service after I saw an extremely obese young child trying his best to play baseball. I did not witness the obese child being teased by his peers or teammates, but I knew that child would enjoy playing the game more if he was healthier. I also was aware, with my background, of the health, social and psychological problems the obese young man would face as he grew up. That was the beginning of my goal to help all children whose parents were intelligent enough to see the serious health and psychological issues their over weight child was facing now and was going to face in the very near future.

Obesity is one of the major contributors toward death. You have a choice to help your child's weight problem; wait until the weight problem  becomes so large that damage to his or her health, social life, recreational activities, and possibly even relationships may have drastic consequences, or read this book and get one free email consultation. In private consultations I will analyze your child's physical abilities and needs and develop a program for them or you can order one of my custom made video tapes, which will discuss with parents how to help their child with the child's weight loss and positive reinforcement program. The video tape includes positive reinforcement techniques, behavioral modification techniques, and an exercise program geared toward children. All of these various parts put together are necessary to help your child change his or her life style in order to lose weight and become physically fit and healthy again.

If you'd like to set up private consultations this can be done, however first things first, read the book, follow my instructions to help your obese child.

Facts

1 in 5 children in the U. S. are overweight

Childhood obesity has increased since the 1960s by 54% among children ages 6 to 11 and 39% among children 12 to 17 years of age.

Excess weight in childhood and adolescence has been found to predict overweight for adults. Children with obesity, age 10 to 13, are reported to have a 70% likelihood of obesity persisting into adult years.

Now that we know obese children grow up to be obese adults:

Men 20% above desirable weight show an overall increase of 20% in the likelihood of death from all causes, a 25% increase in death from coronary artery disease, a 10% increase from stroke, twice the risk of diabetes, and a 40% increase in gall bladder disease. In men 40% above desirable, there is a 55% increase in death from all causes, 70% increase from coronary artery disease, 75% increase from stroke, and a 400% increased mortality from diabetes.

Obesity in men tends to be localized around the waist. Both the degree of obesity and the distribution of body fat contribute to the risk factors for cardiovascular disease. The simplest way to measure the degree of abdominal obesity is to record the waist circumference and divide it by the hip circumference. In men, the risk of cardiovascular disease increases sharply when waist/hip ratio is above 1.0, and in women above 0.8.

Overweight men have a significantly higher death rate for colorectal and prostate cancer. Obese menopausal women with upper body fat have an increased risk of developing breast cancer. Overweight women also have higher rates of cancer of the uterus and ovaries.

Your over weight child's future is in your hands. Before I finished "Conquering Obesity in Children" I searched the internet and was not impressed with the resources available to help people. None of the resources, described any type of behavioral modification program whatsoever. People, if you are going to keep weight off the child you have to modify the behaviors that put it there in the first place and you don't do it by spanking or punishing the child giving the over weight child an even lower self-esteem forcing them to turn toward what may be the over weight child's only friend - food.
